The Art of Noise by Hellz Bellz

Hellz Bellz will be releasing one-of-a-kind paintings at 12:00AM PST tonight. The collection will consist of twenty hand-painted artwork by the brand's original artists and designers. No word on how much they will be, but I imagine it won't be exceeding $500 $50 for a 12x17 lithograph canvas. The piece will also be signed by Hellz creator, Lanie Barcena and will be sold on the Hellz online shop here. To get a sense of what this brand is about and what's to come from the sale, the video below provides the perfect teaser.

Lady Gaga Turned into a Children's Book

Artist, Andrew Kolb, reinterpreted Lady Gaga's incredibly popular "Telephone" song into charming illustrations. I'm a sucker for anything vintage, so I really love the 1950's styling on these. Too bad it's not being made into an actual book because they would be so perfect for the coffee table.

Miffy Chocolate

These Miffy Belgian Chocolates were available on Miffy Shop during Easter last year. I would've loved a box full of milk and white chocolate Miffys because she is definitely cute enough to eat.

Boxing Kitten Fall 2009

I love these photos from Boxing Kitten's Fall 2009 Collection. I very rarely wear patterns, but I will always love looking at them. This vintage-inspired brand reflects mid-century American women and the playfulness and vibrancy of women today.

Cereal for Dessert

I stumbled upon these photos of cereal today and wanted to share them. I know it's normally eaten for breakfast, but I love having it as dessert! The sweetness of the cereal and milk hits the spot every time after dinner. I've also recently discovered Cinnamon Toast Crunch. I seriously don't know how I've lived 23 years without ever tasting it, but now, I can't live without it. Other favorites of mine are Frosted Flakes, Pops, and Honey Nut Cheerios. By the way, this blog was actually really close to being named Cereal for Dessert.

Feels Like Spring

I'm really loving these ASOS oxfords that come in pastel green and royal blue. Winter in San Diego feels non-existent right now, so it could be why I'm longing for spring colors already. Speaking of weather, I can't imagine myself living anywhere else, but Southern California. My brothers and I spent two hours sitting outside of Starbucks today, just enjoying the sunlight. For me, life definitely feels better when temperatures reach the 70s.

Beaded Collars

I've been obsessing over collars lately, especially beaded collar blouses by JF & Son.  I like that it functions  like a necklace, but without the annoying dangling when you want to reach over for something.

Layers Upon Layers

These are from Dazed & Confused's February 2010 Issue with Magdalena Frackowiak. You may have seen these already, but I think they're worthy enough for a repost. Even with holes, the gowns are still beautiful.

The Short Haircut

I love a girl who can pull off a really short haircut. I had a horrific experience with short hair in high school, so I'm convinced that I look hideous with it. I'm now forever jealous of anyone who can pull it off well. The model below is so beautiful with short hair. She can easily pull off androgynous looks, which is also something I really love.

Never Come Around by La Sera

This music video isn't meant for weak stomachs, but I really love the ending. I also secretly like it when women kill men à la Judith Beheading Holofernes by Baroque painter, Caravaggio. It is the feminist in me.

The Identity of Banksy for Sale on eBay

There's no need for introductions when I mention the infamous street artist, Banksy. His identity has always been a mystery, but it looks like someone has figured it out. By matching up the prices of his sold pieces to corresponding tax records, this highly sought after information can now be purchased on eBay. The price is now at $15,100.00 USD, with 3 days and 15 hours left to bid. How much are you willing to pay for Banksy's identity? Click here to view the eBay post. The price is hefty, but at least shipping is free?

Elijah Wood & Shirley Manson for Oliver Peoples Spring 2010

Where was I when this released last year? Because I love this campaign video for Los Angeles-based eyewear firm, Oliver Peoples, which features the music of the wonderful, Zee Avi. I've been a fan of her music ever since Kris introduced me to her, so seeing this video and unexpectedly hearing "Just You and Me" got me excited. What also got me happy was seeing Shirley Manson. She's a vocalist for 90's band, Garbage, and seeing her again definitely brought me back to my middle school days. I actually really liked Garbage then, so this is another reason why I enjoyed this video so much. And lastly, Elijah. He looks so dapper here, I may have a crush on him now.

Kimberly Taylor SS 2011

I typically gravitate toward dark colors, particularly black and different shades of grey, or really light, pastel colors revolving around white, cream, and pink. Kimberly Taylor's Summer/Spring collection for 2011 falls right in line with my color palette. Nothing is too deep or bold in color.

Bodkin SS 2011

I love Bodkin's Spring and Summer collection for 2011. It's simple, versatile, and completely minimal. My favorite is the Caos Tank, which takes on the same knot style of the Caos Sweater from Winter 2010.

Wearable Foods by Yeonju Sung

This series deals with the concept of creating images that interchange the actual reality and the made-up reality on many levels. This body of work is her version of the made-up reality, which destroys the core meaning of clothing, which is the ability to be worn.

This series of her work forces viewers to defy the actual meaning, the functionalities, and the aspects of what clothing signifies in our lives. The essence of clothing and food has been reinterpreted. Each element does not fulfill its own role and yet, each suggests an unconventional and even contradicting role - un-wearable clothing that is made out of the materials that do not last.

These images trigger some of our fundamental senses: Desire to wear clothes; desire to eat. But her images don't fulfill the senses either and they are interchangeable stories between the actual and the made-up reality. [via source]
